Some nominees for king of comfort
Here are some of my all-time favorite comfort foods. It’s just a list; perhaps I’ll rhapsodize about them at some other point.
- Fried eggs on buttered sourdough toast.
- Tuna salad sandwiches.
- Split pea soup.
- Pulled pork.
- Roast and three veg.
- Poutine!
- Macaroni and cheese.
- Aussie meat pie with sauce.
My wife likes the roast dinners too, prefers her eggs poached, and adds:
- Cauliflower cheese
- Pumpkin soup
- Good bread (pastadura!) with butter
- Angel hair pasta with cream and smoked salmon
- Gnocchi
